Stitchers

Valerie Stasalovich is an embroiderer on the Connecticut tapestry panel. A resident of Shelton, CT, she has been stitching for over 50 years. Having learned embroidery from her mother at age 6, Valerie has practiced beading, cross stitch, pulled/drawn thread, surface embroidery, knitting, and crochet. While working on the panel, Valerie has utilized the backstitch technique. A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Valerie wanted to contribute her skill to a project that will be treasured for generations to come. Looking towards America's 250th anniversary, Valerie hopes that we as a nation can live in peace and harmony and respect the freedoms we have.
