Sandra Golbert

Stitcher, New Hampshire

Sandra Golbert is an embroiderer on the New Hampshire tapestry panel. A resident of Exeter, she has been stitching for over 50 years. Having learned embroidery through her mother and grandmother, Sandra has practiced many fiber arts techniques including beading, goldwork or other metal threads, quilting, surface embroidery, raised embroidery, and hand-dyed silk artwork, among others. Sandra has been able to stitch on three of the America's Tapestry panels - New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Massachusetts! While only a resident of New Hampshire for four years, she absolutely loves it! Since joining America's Tapestry, Sandra has learned that the New Hampshire Congress met in her town, Exeter, in 1776 to establish a civil government, the first American commonwealth to ratify its own constitution.
