Stitchers

Palma Vaccaro is an embroiderer on the Connecticut tapestry panel. A resident of West Hartford, she has been stitching for over 50 years. Having learned embroidery from her mother, Palma has practiced cross stitch, canvaswork or needlepoint, quilting, including piecework and appliqué, surface embroidery including crewel, raised embroidery, knitting, and crochet. While working on the state panel, Palma has utilized satin stitch and straight stitch. Palma was inspired to join the project to support the local organization that is hosting the Connecticut panel, the Hartford Stitch. Looking towards our nation's anniversary, Palma hopes for secured democracy and shared kindness.
