Stitchers

Lauren Thie is an embroiderer on the North Carolina tapestry panel. A resident of Garner, NC, she has been stitching for over 30 years. Having learned embroidery through her paternal grandmother, Lauren has practiced cross stitch and canvaswork/needlepoint. While working on the panel, Lauren has utilized the Smyrna stitch. A lifelong North Carolina resident, Lauren joined America's Tapestry to support her friend Gail Smith who is the director of the North Carolina panel. Lauren has greatly enjoyed learning about the Edenton Tea Party and the women featured on the state panel. Lauren hopes for harmony, collaboration, and justice as our nation approaches its 250th anniversary.
