Stitchers

Darce Costello is an embroiderer on the Connecticut tapestry panel. A resident of West Hartford, Connecticut, she is relatively new to embroidery, having been stitching for less than a year. Darce learned to embroider by taking an introductory class and from library books. Prior to joining America's Tapestry, she practiced beading, cross stitch, quilting, knitting, and crochet.

While working on the panel, Darce has used the satin stitch, chain stitch, and back stitch, and loves them all. The satin stitch was new to her through the project. She was inspired to join because it sounded like a fun project and she enjoyed working on the tapestry with other stitchers.
