Carolyn "Carrie" Eddy
Stitcher, Virginia
Carolyn "Carrie" Eddy is an embroiderer on the Virginia tapestry panel. A resident of Richmond, Virginia, she has been stitching for several decades. Carrie first learned needlepoint from her father when she was a teenager living in Connecticut. Her passion is Jacobean Crewel, and she has also practiced needlepoint, cross stitch, and silk and metal thread embroidery.
While working on the panel, Carrie has mostly used satin and long and short stitches. Originally from New England, she was inspired to join the project to assist the Rose and Thistle EGA Chapter and as part of her personal legacy. Since joining America's Tapestry, Carrie has learned that in addition to its famous statesmen and revolutionary leaders, Virginia also contributed to the war effort via mining.
