Carol Harrison
Stitcher, Virginia
Carol Harrison is an embroiderer on the Virginia tapestry panel. A resident of Williamsburg, Virginia, she has been stitching since childhood. Carol's mother was her first teacher, and her love of learning continued through travel and taking classes with her local EGA chapter. She practices many areas of needlework including traditional Japanese and canvas embroidery, and also makes hooked rugs and quilts.
While working on the panel, Carol has utilized realistic shading and split stitch. She has a deep personal connection to Virginia's history, having taught U.S. and Virginia history for many years and lived in Virginia for most of her life. Carol was inspired to join the project by the opportunity to be part of the 2026 celebration.
