Barbara Bass is an embroiderer on the Maryland tapestry panel. A resident of Silver Spring, she has been stitching for over 50 years. A self taught embroiderer, Barbara has practiced cross stitch, canvaswork or needlepoint, counted work that isn't cross stitch, goldwork or other metal threads, pulled or drawn thread embroidery, knitting, crochet, and traditional Japanese embroidery. Inspired to join America's Tapestry through the support of a friend, Barbara has primarily been using counted thread embroidery on the state panel so far. While working on the panel, Barbara has learned a great deal about the American Revolution in Maryland.
